Nerf Gun: Second Attempt

Nerf Gun: Second Attempt

I decided to remodel the  Nerf gun in 3d Studio Max. I wanted to see how long it would take me and how it would turn out.

Here is the high poly after using the Probooleans in Max to cut out sections of the model. I added Turbosmooth at level 3 and a glossy material to see the edges.

Nerf Gun

Hard Surface Modeling: Nerf Gun

I quickly blocked out most of the gun. Then I created the shapes I needed to cutout the parts of the gun's main body and the magazine. I exported those parts to Zbrush as an fbx to do the live boolean operations.

Gun blockout.

Testing booleans parts in Zbrush. I also made some pieces in Zbrush that I used to cut out sections of the model.

I imported the model into Marmoset Toolbag to test the textures. I also did some quick 3 point lighting on it. I noticed my alpha is not working correctly.

Hard Surface Modeling: Knife

Tac-Force Knife

For this assignment we have to model a tac-force knife using booleans in Zbrush, I blocked out the model in Maya and made the parts that I was going to use for the boolean operations.

I subdivided the model and all the parts and exported as fbx.

I turned on live Boolean in Zbrush and organized the model to created the high poly blade.

I finished modeling the handle and the parts I will use to as Booleans in Zbrush.

Here is the finished handle with the Booleans applied.

I modeled the clip in Maya and created the Allen bolts with Booleans.
